Tunisia's Beaches and Islands
Resort coastline and an island with its own slower rhythm.
Hammamet is Tunisia's classic package-holiday coast — big resorts, a walkable old medina, and an easy 1-hour drive from Tunis. Djerba is a genuinely different pace: an island off the south coast with its own causeway, whitewashed architecture, pottery villages, and direct international flights that skip Tunis entirely. Both are safe, well-established tourist areas.
Tunisia's coastline does exactly what a Mediterranean beach trip is supposed to do, for noticeably less money than Greece, Italy, or southern Spain — and then it throws in an actual island with its own personality, an hour's flight from the mainland if you'd rather skip Tunis altogether.
