Karlovy Vary

The bus beats the train here, both on time and price โ most direct FlixBus and RegioJet coaches leave from Prague's Florenc terminal roughly every hour or two, and arrive right at Karlovy Vary's central 'Trลพnice' stop, a short walk from the start of the spa colonnades.
The hot springs and colonnades

Hotel rooms in town sell out months ahead and prices spike hard for the festival week โ either plan around it deliberately if you want the atmosphere, or avoid those specific dates if you're after a normal, quiet spa visit.
Day trip or a real spa stay?
A day trip genuinely works for seeing the colonnades, drinking the water, and getting a feel for the town โ most visitors do exactly this from Prague. But the actual spa experience (mineral baths, mud wraps, massage, a doctor consultation for a personalized 'cure') needs a multi-night stay at one of the town's spa hotels, and is a fundamentally different, more restorative kind of trip than a quick sightseeing visit.
